Kevin Schofield urges protection of sacred islands at Chaudiere Falls in the Ottawa River

December 23, 2015

Guitar in hand, fresh from four days of sleeping on the ground at Victoria Island (Asinabka) in support of ceremonial fasters, Kevin Schofield takes a Cree lullaby and turns it into a song for activists. "It's your place, too," he says of the island. "And your great-grandchildren's. We need to do what our Elders tell us."

Video of Mr. Schofield was captured at public art & activism event, OchsFest, held Dec. 19, 2015 Ottawa, ON
