Apology to a Rangers Fan

May 22, 2013

I'm a huge Sens fan, and I know a Rangers/Blackhawks fan. All NHL season, I'vs been insulting her teams, especially in the playoffs. Of course, I'd said the Rangers would be eliminated against Washington. However, they pulled off a victory. So I wrote her an apology letter. I actually meant to insult the Rangers with the letter, but she took it as a compliment. I suppose it's better that way.

Dear Rangers Fan,

I apologize for insulting your team. I am sorry that I underestimated their ability to beat a powerhouse Capitals team that they struggled with during the regular season. However, as I did not lose any money concerning this series, I can accept the fact that the Rangers are moving on. Also, I apologize for doubting their ability to win on the road-the home team was 6-0, and the Rangers have struggled at the Verizon Center for many years. But they defied expectations, just as the Senators did. Also, I doubted the Rangers goaltending. Surely I will not make that mistake again. The reason for these doubts were involved around the way Henrik Lundqvist played against the Senators in the regular season, and that his numbers were dropping, not as high as they have been in the past. Well, he showed us last night he can play good-if he wants to. And now that both our teams face a daunting task-the Senators Pittsburgh, the Rangers Boston-and I wish your team the best of luck in Round 2-unless, of course, the Senators are eliminated. Then I want the Rangers to be crushed, and see how well you can accept defeat. With any luck, the Senators and Rangers will face off in the Conference Finals, a rematch of last year's quarterfinal. And then, of course, we can discover why the Senators are better.

Sincerely,
Senators Fan
