Lucie is a mother of three, grandmother of six, well known active member of the Carlsbad Springs community.  Concerned for the welfare of her granchildren, she's a member of the Carlsbad Springs Optimist Club (friend of youth), director with Carlsbad Springs Community Association and vice-president of the Capital Region Citizens Coalition for the Protection of the Environment (CRCCPE) which is currently fighting a proposed landfill by Taggart Miller in Ottawa's east end.

Another mega-dump is at your door Ottawa - Important community meeting April 28th

The proposed Taggart-Miller (CRRRC project) would be the largest in Ottawa (4 times the size of Carp Road dump).  This is a private, for profit, industrial dump on 450 acres where 80% of the industrial, commercial and institutional waste would be buried! The proponent calls it a recycling plant.  At stake is the ground and surface water protection, air quality, biology impact on fauna and flora, unpredictability of the Leda clay, social impact and more.
