Hour 1 of Ottawa Now for Tues. April 23rd, 2024

April 23, 2024
Mooney’s Bay has always been a popular spot for sledding in Canada’s Capital. Every single Winter, kids are showing up in droves with their families to take in this official sledding site. Just one problem: This site is no longer an official sledding destination. Several accidents and injuries have led to its demotion, with the final straw falling off the camel’s back in 2017. Four years later, an 11-year-old girl lost her life on that hill after a tobogganing accident. But what if we invested money to make it safer to ride? Kristy Cameron chats with Tony Tran, a Director with the Riverside Park Community Association. Plus, as a global conference commences, City Hall is taking part in a reusable container pilot project, which has garnered support from several major grocery chains.
